2014 on Twitter

On Twitter, 2014 has been the year of football, but also of the famous Oscars selfie, Ebola, the landing of the Rosetta ship and the Spanish Royal Household.

Leaving football aside, the moments with the highest volume of tweets in Spain have been the proclamation of Felipe VI as King of Spain and the Goya ceremony.
Alejandro Sanz (@AlejandroSanz) is the most followed Spaniard on Twitter, and one of the most followed in the world, with 67th place in the world ranking and 11,8 million. In Spain, although many soccer players appear at the top of the ranking, we also find many of the most popular singers and presenters among the most followed: Enrique Iglesias (@ enrique305), 8,2 million; David Bisbal (@davidbisbal), 6,9 million; Pablo Alboran (@pabloalboran), 2,3 million; and Santiago Segura (@SSantiagosegura), 2,3 million.
