In the third installment of «Dialogues with ECO», el Dilograf's podcast on sustainability, Sandra Mercé, Head of Marketing and Communications at Dilograf, speaks with Marta Anglada, Sustainability Director of Ferrer.
Marta Anglada has nearly 20 years of experience driving sustainable transformation in companies and organizations. At Ferrer, she led the development and implementation of its global sustainability strategy—environmental and social—and was a key figure in the company's B Corp certification process.
“Since 2019, we have allocated 40% of our annual net profit to social and environmental projects, a commitment supported by B Corp certification,” says Anglada.
B Corp certification has been a continuous learning tool for Ferrer. Since 2020, "we have worked across all areas of the company to contribute to impact. By evaluating governance, people, diversity, and the business model, we have comprehensively incorporated sustainability. In these three years, we developed more than 100 projects, and in the 2022 recertification, we achieved 136,4 points, positioning ourselves as the third-highest-scoring company globally in B Corp."
A strategic pillar of Ferrer's sustainability strategy is Liveable Planet, a strategy that emphasizes two main lines of work: climate change and natural capital. Regarding the former, Marta Anglada states: "We have set a goal of reducing our carbon emissions by 50% by 2030, a challenge that involves transforming processes, operations, and the way we manage our business."
Ferrer also works in areas such as biodiversity, water, and the circular economy. "Our next step is to develop a nature transition plan that integrates the preservation of natural resources both within the organization and in our external value chains," concludes Ferrer's head of sustainability in the podcast.
