Gamoy cartons, a Valencian company that is part of the Gamoy-Ondumed group and that specializes in the manufacture of corrugated cardboard packaging, celebrated its 40th anniversary at the end of last year.
The company, which in 2021 had a turnover of 40 million euros, estimates growth in 2022 of 10%. From the 15 workers with whom it began, it has grown to 110, and from a 700 square meter premises, to having more than 18.000 m2 of facilities.
Cartonajes Gamoy continues to be an independent entity. "We are not part of multinationals, and that makes us almost unique in the Valencian Community and in Spain," says its founding partner, Pepe Ros.
In fact, the organization follows the same steps as its founding members in 1982. "We have a past, but above all, a future," he adds, explaining that the group has just acquired another 8.000 meters of land in anticipation of continuing with its current growth. .
Along these lines, the firm has implemented a new organizational chart this year that will give way to a new organization to professionalize the company "with a management committee made up of professionals to guarantee successful continuity in the 2nd generation of Cartonajes Gamoy/Ondumed" , details Pepe Ros.
Gamoy-Ondumed is a business group dedicated to both the manufacture of corrugated cardboard sheets and the subsequent handling of all types of packaging. The Valencian firm has been in the cardboard and packaging sector since 1982 and its facilities are located in the Masía del Juez Industrial Estate (Torrente). Cartonajes Gamoy was the initial company dedicated to the manufacture of corrugated cardboard packaging. In 1991, Ondulados del Mediterráneo was established, which manufactures cardboard sheets for handlers such as Gamoy himself and other companies.
