65th Graphic Arts Contest

El Graphic Arts Contest, which annually convenes the Gremi de la Indústria i la Comunicació Grafica de Catalunya, has awarded in its 65th edition to a score of unionized companies for their work carried out in 2015.

The awards ceremony was the central act of the Graphic Gala, a benchmark event in the graphic arts sector that has brought together half a thousand people at the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona.

The awards, which include different categories depending on the product or technique, have gone to Liberdúplex (Book Award in Offset Printing); Táctilestudio Comunicación Creativa (Book Design Award and Magazine Award); Industria Gráfica Cayfosa (Book Award in Industrial Binding, sponsored by Kodak); Eusebio Gregorio Bookbinding (Book Award in Artisan Binding); Gràfiques Ortells (Catalog Award in Offset Printing); Pix Fix (Premium Catalog Design); Ediciones Gráficas Rey (Opúsculo Award, sponsored by Soporset); Milenio (Case Award); Artrok (Exhibitor Award); Grupo Miralles (Display Prize); Gràfiques Alzamora (Premi Bolsa and Premium Offset Printing on Folding Simwhite, sponsored by Comart); Moderngrab (Sleeve Award); Industrial Bolsera (Flexography Award); Gràfiques Varias (Prize to the Set of Labels); Art Plus Serigraphy (Poster Award in Serigraphy); Opal Tech (Large Format Printing Award); Serafí Indústria Gràfica Publicitària (Display Accésito Award and Various Award); Impremta Pagès (Various Award in Offset Printing); Hercu Graphics (Various Manipulated Award).

The Extraordinary Pirámide Gremial Award, sponsored by Heidelberg for the product that, due to its exceptional quality, stands out among the awarded works, has been for The Folio Club, which has also won the Book Award in Finishes and the Catalog Award in Digital Printing.

During the event, the Gremi also recognized Marcos Gilson and Javi Quiroz, students from the “Antoni Algueró” Vocational Training School, winners of the Innolab program contest, and the teams from the center that were finalists in the mSchools App Awards contest.

The awards ceremony was the main event of the Graphic Gala, an unmissable event for graphic arts that has brought together half a thousand people at the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona. The event began with the intervention of the president of the Gremi de la Indústria i la Comunicació Gràfica de Catalunya, Iban Cid, and included the performance of the monologue and television reporter Enric Company. The companies AGFA, Comart, Esko, Heidelberg, HP, Kodak, Ricoh, Sign-Tronic and Soporset and the “Antoni Algueró” School have given their support to the event this edition.
