Among the 190 participating works from eight countries, most of the winners of the Latampack Award were from Mexico and Spain. The design of the agave liqueur bottle that F3 BRANDS designed for a community of small indigenous producers in Guanajuato, Mexico, stands out. This initiative was born from an indigenous collective in southern Mexico called RURALIA-DIRECTO DEL PRODUCTOR (Producer's Direct) to have their own brand that can compete with quality and price in markets that may be unattainable for them.
Worthy of note is the "Liquid Architecture" perfume collection by WOHA Parfums, which olfactorily interprets architectural projects designed by the World of Holistic Architecture studio. The design of the caps is based on an architectural construction system and is achieved through the use of glass powder from recycled bottles, used as a mold to give it volume and texture.
Also, for its coherence and aesthetic value, the SIEGA range of packaging, designed by LAURA RAMOS. A range of Iberian products that represents the rock carvings from the Siega Verde Archaeological Site, one of the most important discoveries of Paleolithic art in Villar de la Yegua (Salamanca),
Innovation is a strong presence in this edition of the Latampack award. Originating from the University of Monterrey, the egg carton, designed by Kenya Sinai Flores, is inspired by the structure of coral polyps. It contains, transports, and stores a dozen eggs using recycled ocean plastics—specifically polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE)—reinforced with natural rubber additives to improve friction and stability during transport. The coral-like shape not only ensures effective protection for the eggs but also facilitates cleaning and reuse, promoting sustainability. Furthermore, the carton's label is made of recycled paper and printed with vegetable-based inks, underscoring the project's environmental commitment.
From Chile, WOODPACK by ATACAMA BIOMATERIALS stands out for its high ecological value. This biodegradable bioplastic is created from recycled wood fibers and biomass, using robotics and AI for its development. Woodpack is a sustainable and economical alternative to conventional petroleum-derived plastic films, standing out for its high mechanical performance and durability.
