Inclusive Designer

Aptar Beauty received the “Inclusive Designer” label in Paris on October 16, 2025, as part of its ongoing collaboration with APF France Handicap and its long-standing commitment to inclusive design. Aptar Beauty is the first company in the beauty and packaging sector to be recognized for its proactive approach to accessible and responsible design. It is also one of the first four major companies in France to receive the label, selected for its exemplary practices in inclusive innovation.

APF France Handicap is a national organization that advocates for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities. Its innovation department, TechLab, specializes in inclusive design and supports companies in developing more accessible products and services, directly involving people with disabilities and older adults in the design process.

The "Inclusive Designer" label was created by TechLab in collaboration with the Chair of Technology for Change at the Polytechnic Institute of Paris, which explores the intersection of innovation, inclusion, and sustainability. Following a rigorous audit of the tools and methods implemented in inclusive innovation, tech lab awarded Aptar Beauty Level 1 certification under this label.

Valid for three years, this label certifies that the company meets a high standard of inclusivity in the design of its products and services, primarily through the involvement of diverse individuals with reduced mobility, disabilities, and the elderly in the early stages of the creative process. Aptar Beauty organizes collaborative ideation workshops in partnership with APF France Handicap to test new packaging prototypes as well as existing products. These sessions help identify specific areas for improvement in the user experience and formalize best practices for future packaging development.

This certification is part of Aptar Beauty's long-term innovation strategy, which has published two white papers on the topic: The Role of Packaging Dispensing in Achieving More Inclusive Beauty (2023) and Aptar Beauty's Complete Guide to Inclusive Packaging Design (2024).

These guides offer a deeper look into the challenges people with disabilities face when using beauty products and offer practical recommendations to help companies move toward universal design.

“Inclusive design is fundamental to our innovation strategy. As part of our collaboration with APF France Handicap, we integrate universal design principles into our development processes to create accessible solutions for all.”
Marie Jacquemin, Global Consumer Insights and Ideation Manager, Aptar Beauty.
