Cosmetics 2025 has closed its ninth edition with record numbers. On October 22 and 23, the La Farga-Barcelona venue hosted 3500 over professionals, who participated in conferences, workshops and networking activities, while 140 exhibiting companies They showcased their latest solutions in raw materials, technologies, services and packaging.
This year's fair was marked by a relocation of the venue, which has boosted its growth to offer more than 7.000 m² of exhibition space. "This year we faced the challenge of moving the fair to a new venue, and the transition has been very smooth. The response from exhibitors and visitors demonstrates the sector's capacity to innovate and grow, without losing the essence that makes Cosmetorium an essential point of reference for the industry," he noted. José Zaragozano, in charge of the organization by Step Exhibitions Iberia.
A full program of conferences, workshops, and activities addressed the sector's key challenges and trends. Highlights included advanced biotechnology applied to ingredient development, artificial intelligence in formulation, neurocosmetics, next-generation photoprotection, sustainability, and regulatory developments that will shape the future of the industry.
The scientific program included the participation of renowned experts such as Josep M. Ganyet, Dr. Manel Esteller and Professor David Bueno, whose presentations sparked an interesting debate about artificial intelligence, the secrets of human longevity, and the positive influence of art on brain development.
At the fair, the Innovatorium area showcased the most disruptive advances in formulation: active ingredients from postbiotic biotechnology; ingredients that act as bioactives to eliminate senescent cells; biodegradable polymers for hair conditioning or to increase SPF; biotechnological active ingredients obtained from new cells; innovative pigments…
In packaging, new developments from companies specializing in cosmetic packaging stand out; one example of inclusive packaging with interchangeable rings, created to make opening easier for people with mobility issues.
Cosmetorium Awards: Inclusivity and Personalization
One of the highlights of the fair was the Cosmetorium Awards ceremony. This year's edition focused on the value of inclusivity and personalization in cosmetic formulation.
The award-winning formulas were distinguished by their innovative approach and ability to adapt to the unique needs of each skin type, reflecting the move toward smarter and more diverse cosmetics.

Conceived by the SEQC and organized jointly with Step Exhibitions, “Cosmetorium 2025 has demonstrated that the sector is more vibrant than ever. The record-breaking participation, high-level discussions, and the enthusiasm of companies and visitors demonstrate the key role of this event as a driver of innovation in the cosmetics sector,” said Núria Sisto, president of the Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SEQC).
