Fedrigoni acquires the Spanish company Guarro Casas

Fedrigoni buys Guarro Casas

The Group Fedrigoni has signed an agreement with the Anglo-French multinational arjowiggings for acquisition of Guarro Casas, with more than 300 years of history and a high profile in the manufacture and finishing of special graphic papers. The company is based in Gelida (Barcelona), Spain, where it operates a plant with 140 employees.

The deal was signed a few days after the Arjowiggings Group and its UK subsidiaries filed an application for administration. Guarro Casas is highly specialized in the production of quality papers, mainly for creative and binding applications, where it is the market leader in high value-added finishes for luxury packaging and book cover applications. In some of these segments, Fedrigoni already stands out globally and further synergies can be developed with the purchase.

Our new group company will expand our portfolio with additional know-how and technologies fully complementary to our own – he says Marco Nespolo, CEO of the Fedrigoni Group -. Future synergies will also involve Fedrigoni's Self-adhesive business unit, with particular reference to the premium label segment."

jordi sauras, general director of Guarro Casas, was also very satisfied with the acquisition. “Fedrigoni is an international group and a solid and expanding industrial reality, in which I am sure that Guarro Casas will be able to grow and consolidate significantly in the coming years. Our two companies are very well matched and Fedrigoni's experience in the luxury packaging sector, its knowledge of processes and manufacturing, coupled with its global dimension, will be crucial in helping us develop new and highly innovative solutions."
