Glenmorangie

There are bottles that transcend their category, like the one from The Glenmorangie Altus 25 Years Old, an whiskey which represents the pinnacle of the elegant and fruity style of the Glenmorangie distillery.

The result of twenty-five years of patience and precision, The Altus is the result of a creative process where every decision, every barrel, and every moment counts. Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation and Master Distiller, describes it as "a celebration of time and boundless imagination that defines the soul of Glenmorangie”

Aged in classic bourbon barrelsor for a quarter of a century and completed with a subtle proportion of whisky finished in Madeira wine barrelsThe Altus is an exercise in balance and depth. Its aroma reveals layers of carnation, orange blossom, honey, and peach, with a background of vanilla and toasted almond. On the palate, its silky texture envelops notes of mandarin, pear, currant, and yellow plum, with a lingering finish where hints of buttery caramel, marzipan, and ripe banana emerge.

Every detail of its creation is a testament to the Maison's commitment to excellence. The casks used—the celebrated Glenmorangie designer casks—are handcrafted from tight-grained American oak, hand-selected in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri. Their two-year outdoor maturation and intense roasting, according to Dr. Bill's specifications, give the whisky that unmistakable creamy smoothness that distinguishes Glenmorangie.

The result is a single malt which elevates the signature fruity and silky notes to their highest expression. The Altus thus joins the distillery's most refined trilogy, alongside The Original 12 Years Old and Infinita 18 Years Old.
