graphispag e hispack, the two leading events for the graphic and packaging industries in Spain, will once again be held jointly from May 4 to 7, 2027, at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue. This strategic alignment will expand the convening power of both shows and bring the latest innovations in materials, printing technologies, packaging, and labeling to more sectors, generating key synergies for market revitalization.
This decision has been agreed upon with the Spanish Association of Suppliers of the printing, graphic industry and visual communication sector. (AESI) of Graphispack AssociationWith this, Graphispag and Hispack strengthen their role as key platforms for business, innovation, and networking in the printing and packaging industries in our country. Work has also begun on developing synergies between these two important economic sectors.
Organized by Barcelona Fair, Graphispag 2027 will bring together exhibiting companies in Hall 1 of the Gran Via exhibition center, showcasing materials, consumables, and graphic media, printing machinery and technology, as well as finishing, binding, and converting equipment. Its commercial offering will be aimed at both graphic services and visual communication companies and other industrial sectors demanding more personalized and sustainable printing solutions, including packaging. The show will maintain its own activities focused on providing knowledge about trends and new high-added-value printing applications.
Hispack, which will hold a special commemorative edition of its 20th edition, will occupy Halls 2 and 3 of the Gran Via venue. Fira de Barcelona's packaging, processing, and logistics exhibition will showcase the latest packaging technology, materials, and solutions, taking into account the entire packaging lifecycle and its connections with other production processes and the supply chain.
A relationship of years
This isn't the first time both shows have taken place simultaneously. They were already held in 2022, with very positive results. However, this co-hosting could not be repeated in the spring of 2024 due to the close timing of Drupa, the world's largest printing trade fair, which forced Graphispag to move to October. The show then brought together nearly 11.000 exhibitors and more than 1966 visitors. It's also worth remembering that Graphispag and Hispack were founded together in 1983 under the name "Graphispack." Graphic arts and packaging shared this same exhibition space until XNUMX, when Hispack became independent and both shows began their independent journeys.
Thanks to this renewed alliance with Hispack, Graphispag 2027 will focus on packaging printing, one of the fastest-growing specialty areas of the graphics market. In this regard, the consulting firm Smithers estimates that packaging, label, and container printing will maintain a compound annual growth rate of 3,6% in both volume and value until 2029, totaling $618.200 billion worldwide and producing 17,1 trillion A4 prints.
Given these positive prospects, Graphispag will showcase innovations in various printing systems for containers, packaging, and labels, large-scale customization options or for limited editions, new designs and finishes to highlight, rapid packaging prototyping, printed sensors for smart labels, anti-counterfeiting systems, and product quality indicators, among other options that the graphic sector offers the packaging industry.
In addition, Graphispag will showcase graphic and visual communication products and services for other sectors such as publishing, advertising, large-format, retail, and interior design, among others, highlighting solutions for customization, sustainability, automation, and high-value finishes.
With this coincidence, visitors to Graphispag will also benefit from Hispack's extensive commercial offering in the areas of materials, labeling, coding and industrial marking, Point-of-Sale Advertising (POS), flexographic printing, premium packaging and casework, containers and packaging for various sectors, as well as industrial and e-commerce packaging solutions.
Permanent contact with the sector
Until then, Graphispag will continue to maintain close contact with the more than 60 graphic industry entities that support its call to create a new edition that meets the needs of their companies and professionals in graphic services, packaging printing, as well as other industries and businesses that use graphic and visual communication solutions.
In this regard, the Fira de Barcelona trade show is already working on a program of training activities and networking opportunities to foster networking and expand knowledge of the graphic arts market. One of the first confirmed initiatives will be the Impulso Conference, organized in collaboration with AESI and the Graphispack Association, which will resume its sessions on April 9 at the headquarters of the Gremi d'Indústries Gràfiques de Catalunya.
