El milk chocolate snack KitKat enters a new category and now, in addition to its famous four-bar format, consumers will be able to enjoy KitKat in the form of chocolate barSpecifically, the brand is launching with two varieties: Double Chocolate and Salted Caramel.
"The new KitKat launch is destined to revolutionize the tablet section in stores. It has it all: the unmistakable KitKat flavor and a contrast of textures that turns every bite into a unique sensorial experience," he adds. The new range of KitKat tablets is now available at major retail outlets across the country on the tablet shelves.
Sustainability, a priority
In line with Nestlé's sustainability goals and its ambition to fully trace the cocoa ingredients used in its chocolates from origin to factory, the new KitKat bars are made with cocoa paste sourced directly from cocoa-growing families participating in the company's Income Accelerator Program.
This program takes an innovative, family-centered approach, aiming to close the income gap for cocoa farmers and reduce the risks of child labor by encouraging and rewarding positive practices, both at home and in the fields. The initial results, reported by the KIT Institute in 2024, are very encouraging, with a 38% increase in household income after 18 months.
90 anniversary
This launch coincides with the brand's 90th anniversary. Invented in York in 1935 as Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp, the name KitKat was adopted a couple of years later. The brand has become a global phenomenon, with its message "Take a break, have a KitKat," championing the importance of unwinding throughout the day.
