Mondi has created an innovative brown kraftliner packaging with white digital printing all with Riedel glass, on the occasion of the market launch of the All American Bourbon glass series.
The intricate design, with its fine lines, small fonts, and integrated QR codes, demands high-quality printing. For packaging printing, Mondi uses high-performance digital printing, the most flexible technology on the market. This allows for the precise and consistent reproduction of complex graphic elements on uncoated brown substrates.
Digital printing is based on direct-to-data printing technology and requires no printing plates or clichés. The ink is applied directly to the material in fine droplets, enabling detailed reproduction and efficient production processes. With the recent investment in white digital printing at Mondi's plant in Ebersdorf, Germany, the technology now offers high opacity and crisp edges, achieving premium visual results on brown kraftliner.
In addition to visual quality, direct-to-data printing technology offers further functional advantages. Different printed images can be produced within a single order, allowing for regional variations or custom designs without additional setup. Serialized barcodes or QR codes enable unique identification of each package throughout the supply chain, improving traceability and facilitating process automation.
Riedel Glas, one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-end glassware, is headquartered in Kufstein, Austria.
