Packaging designs made with Metsä Board cardboard They have won three gold awards at the USEuropean Carton Excellence Awards 2024. The awards, organized by Pro Carton and the European Carton Makers Association (ECMA), were announced on 19 September in Berlin, Germany. Two proposals made from Metsä Board cardboard were also recognised in the Innovation and Audience Award categories.

The premium holographic sales packaging Northern Lights by Arctic Blue Gin, made from MetsäBoard Prime FBB Bright 380 g/m² and converted by Grano Oy, was announced as one of the prestigious winners of the Gold Award. The gift box Easter Celebration by Anthon Berg, made from MetsäBoard Classic FBB 250 g/m² and converted by Van Genechten Packaging, also received a Gold Award.
In addition, Pladis Global's packaging for your selection of McVitie's Victoria Chocolate Creations cookies, made from MetsäBoard Classic FBB 250 g/m² and converted by Graphic Packaging International, won a Gold Award, as well as the Audience Award, as voted for by industry professionals and members of the public.
The Innovation Award was given to a deck kit concept developed and converted by Alzamora Group for OCBThe packaging is made from MetsäBoard Prime FBB Bright 170 and 235 g/m² and was created to provide a reusable combo kit that eliminates the use of plastic bags.
