Packaging Premiere presents its issue 2026, to be held in Milan from May 19 to 21This event, dedicated to luxury packaging for the beauty, fashion, jewelry, wine and spirits, and fine dining sectors, will focus on Elisabetta Bonuccelli, founder of Unokostudio, who with her contemporary origami brings Paper Tracks to life: a project that celebrates care, patience and design, with the conviction that the most meaningful creative journeys are those that are shared.
El role in It becomes a narrative, a tapestry of folds, materials, and gestures that transforms the encounter between craftsmanship and industry into a dialogue and mutual inspiration. Each weight, each tone, and each finish are traces of different skills that meet and renew each other, generating innovative solutions.
"Paper Tracks It is an invitation to rediscover the value of creating together and to recognize how paper can open new creative horizons. The encounter with Elisabetta Bonuccelli gave rise to a project that unites artistic sensibility and industrial vision, transforming the folds of paper into a metaphor for a shared journey. "Paper Tracks represents a path that narrates the power of collaboration," he states. Lara Castagna, event director of Packaging Première Milan.
Elisabetta Bonuccelli's research originates in industrial design and finds its fulfillment in contemporary origami. Her fascination with Japan—from travel to language study, from calligraphy to gastronomy—has opened new perspectives for her, guided by the lines of folding. In her works, she prioritizes abstraction: geometric forms and conceptual compositions, where precision and square proportions take center stage. Among her constant references are Josef Albers and his exploration of color and form: the interaction between squares and empty spaces is a totem of his visual language.
All these influences and inspirations converge in Paper Tracks – The Gift, an iconic piece: a 45 rpm record produced by Europress Vinyl in collaboration with its technical partners Eurographic, Fedrigoni, Furlanis and Luxorowhich shapes the artistic concept of the year. Designed to be discovered slowly, layer by layer, until reaching its essence: a vinyl record wrapped in origami inspired by the Japanese obi, featuring two tracks by Ocrasunset, the artist who renews his collaboration with Packaging Première for the third consecutive year. The tracks, born from a dialogue with Elisabetta Bonuccelli, evoke the work of Josef Albers, where the square is both a visual and conceptual matrix. A dynamic polyrhythm, conceived to embody the balance between sweetness and strength perceived in the world of origami and in Albers' geometries: a delicate yet intense sound.
Along with the art project, Packaging Première also announced the launch of the Advisory Council (Advisory Board)A community of professionals based on the exchange of ideas, skills, and inspiration. The Advisory Board is not just a working group, but also a space for collaborative design. Industry experts and Board members will contribute to shaping the future of packaging through ongoing, reciprocal dialogue.
