The “Make It Excellent” tour, organized by OMRON Industrial Automation, together with Dassault Systèmes, has successfully concluded its visit to Spain. The event, held on 12, 13 and 14 November at the Álava Technology Park, brought together industry leaders interested in the latest innovations in industrial automation and virtual twins.
Following its launch in the Netherlands in October, the tour continued in Spain, highlighting how the convergence of virtual twins and automation technologies can transform manufacturing processes. Attendees had the opportunity to explore how these technologies enable faster innovation cycles, reduce start-up times and minimise operational risks.
“The factory of the future already exists,” he said. Cesar Lorenzo, Robotic Business Developer at OMRON Iberia. “However, there are few companies that are knowing how to take advantage of their potential, as in the automotive sector, where only 10% claim to be making the most of the advantages offered by Smart Factories,” he concludes.
Augmented reality and predictive maintenance demonstrations therefore illustrated how operational data can be used to optimise processes and advance digitalisation, as well as to offer an effective solution to one of the challenges facing today's industry, namely the lack of qualified personnel. Thanks to augmented reality, operators can access guided processes that improve their learning and experience, in order to train the employees of the factory of the future.
Fernando Colás, CEO of OMRON Industrial Automation Europe, commented: “In an ever-changing manufacturing environment, integrating the physical and digital worlds is not only an advantage, but a necessity. Through the ‘Make It Excellent’ tour, we have demonstrated how virtual twins can bring efficiency, flexibility and scalability. Our aim is to continue to equip our partners and customers with the technology needed to achieve operational excellence on their production lines.”
Philippe Bartissol, Vice President of Industrial Equipment Industry at Dassault Systèmes, added: “OMRON and Dassault Systèmes’ collaboration on this tour has demonstrated our joint commitment to driving innovation in manufacturing. Virtual twins enable production lines to be simulated, full traceability to be achieved, and field data to be leveraged for continuous improvement. These capabilities are essential to ensuring consistent quality, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a competitive advantage.”
The next stop on the “Make It Excellent” tour will be in France, in February.
