Recognizing the value of metal and its contribution to sustainability. This is one of the main objectives of the Infinity Awards, the initiative promoted by the Spanish Metallographic Association (AME) in 2023 and which this year celebrated its third edition.
The awards, which reaffirm their commitment to innovation, respect for the environment, and the promotion of good practices in the use of metal, were presented in Valencia during the AME General Assembly.
The winners of this edition were the following:
Social Media Category – El Catalatas (@el_catalatas)
Recognized for promoting the consumption of canned food as a practical, sustainable, and environmentally friendly way of eating. Through its content, El Catalatas promotes the benefits of canning as a preservation method that reduces food waste, while reinforcing the message about the importance of recycling metal containers. Its educational and inspirational approach encourages responsible habits among its community, becoming a key spokesperson for everyday sustainability. It also has a large collection of cans.s, which reinforces its commitment and passion for this format and its potential as a symbol of responsible consumption.
Organizations Category – Viva Steel
Noted for its work in the recovery and transformation of metal waste in the Valencian CommunityTheir work exemplifies how the industry can actively contribute to environmental protection through responsible materials management and the promotion of the circular economy. Through its activities, Viva Steel promotes more efficient production, generating a positive environmental and social impact within the metalworking sector.
Media Category – Association of Environmental Information Journalists (APIA)
Awarded for her key role in rigorous and committed environmental outreach, APIA received the Infinito Award in the Media category. The award was accepted by Félix Tena, a member of the association, who represented the professionals who make up APIA from various regions and media outlets. Its board of directors, which includes journalists such as Maite Mercado (Valencia Plaza) and Tena himself (À Punt Mèdia), reflects the organization's plural, territorial, and specialized approach, which gives voice to the most relevant ecological challenges of our time, thus contributing to greater environmental awareness and action.
The Spanish Metallurgical Association, a business entity that brings together producers of metal containers and closures, launched this annual social awareness initiative in 2023 to disseminate and educate about the importance of recycling, especially metal, and its positive impacts on the environment.
In previous editions, the winners were Todos Somos Reciclaje and Helena Ceva in the Social Media category; EFE Verde and Kiss The Planet in the Media category; and Too Good To Go and Proyecto Ecoescuelas in the Organizations category.
