With one foot in Spain and the other in Italy, the renowned footballer Álvaro Morata lanza The Pig, a brand that celebrates the richness of Iberian ham and products from the Spanish pasturesThis project is not only a tribute to authentic flavours, but also a tribute to two cultures that have marked his life.
“I had it clear: if Italy has given me so much, how could I not share a little piece of my land? El Marrano is my way of telling the world that Iberian ham is not just sausage: it is history, quality and pure enjoyment,” says Morata. After years of enjoying Italian cheeses and sausages, Morata decided to bring the best Iberian ham to Italy, introducing to this market an iconic product that promises to conquer palates.
The Marrano, a charming and gluttonous pig, symbolizes the good-natured person, with overflowing enthusiasm. The brand also represents “well-understood indulgence: savouring without regrets and enjoying with a smile”.
From the free range of the pigs in the pasture, where they feed on acorns rich in oleic acid, to their careful curing process that can last more than three years, each stage reflects an absolute commitment to quality and excellence. With its iconic pata negra, the silky texture of its fat infiltration and its unmistakable flavour, El Marrano Iberian ham promises to delight the most demanding.
The development of El Marrano has had the strategic direction of Javier Touron, Senior Strategy Director of Little Buddha, and Bertrand Massanes, a partner of the agency. Both bring a fresh and authentic vision, combining tradition and modernity in a proposal that connects emotionally with the consumer.
