The winery Jaume serra is recognized for its commitment to innovation and sustainability. In line with these values, it has developed in collaboration with vidrala, New Cava Lite bottle in its range of sparkling wines and cavas.
With a weight of only 750 gramsThis design reduces the 775 grams of the bottle that held the record until now.
The production of this new bottle will take place at the Vidrala plant located in Castellar del vallèsBarcelona, and will be delivered to Jaume Serra's winery, located just 65 kilometers away, which reinforces the strategy of reducing the carbon footprint associated with efficient scheduling and logistics.
Made in an elegant dark green color, the new bottle represents a significant advance in the emission reduction and the efficient use of materials, while ensuring the robustness and quality necessary to guarantee product safety.
The new 750-gram bottle implies a 6,25% reduction in CO2 emissions2 per bottle, compared to the previous 800-gram format. This change represents a significant improvement when evaluated on a large scale: every million bottles manufactured will result in a reduction of more than 15 tons of CO2.2 compared to the previous model, which is equivalent to the emissions of 232 gasoline vehicles in one year.
Commitment to the environment
This reaffirms both companies' commitment to sustainability. A historic collaboration between Garcia Carrión y vidrala in the innovation and lightening of packaging, which began with the development of a 300-gram wine bottle in the seventies.
For Vidrala, the launch of this new bottle reinforces its strategy of reducing packaging weight, which began with the BD Nova Lite and BD Viva Lite bottles, progressively expanding this range of containers without compromising their quality and strength. This approach allows the company to optimize resource use, reduce its carbon footprint, and support its customers' competitiveness.
