The awards ceremony for the 43rd edition of the Delta Awards 2026 was held on July 22nd at the Disseny Hub Barcelona. These awards, organized every two years by the Industrial Design Association ADI-FAD, bring together the main recognitions in the field of industrial and product design in Spain: the Delta Awards , for professionals and companies, awarded since 1961 ; the Delta Medals , for students, awarded since 1976 ; and the Delta Culture Awards , which recognize projects that promote design culture since 2016.
Of the 203 projects or products selected in the first phase, the jury, composed of Michael Anastassiades , Pilar Chiva , Luis Eslava , Elric Petit , and Rosario Hurtado , awarded a total of 11 gold and 17 silver prizes. In addition, three People's Choice Awards were given, chosen by popular vote. All the selected and award-winning projects in the different categories can be seen in the exhibition "Delta Awards 2026: Industrial Design and Design Culture ," open to the public at the Disseny Hub Barcelona from July 23 to September 6, 2026.
The jury highlighted the balance between established and emerging talent. Award winners included well-established product design studios such as Emiliana Design, Lucid , I-MAS , Oiko Design Office , Antoni Arola , and Pensi Design Studio, alongside promising new designers like Pablo Castillo and the young design team at PongoTodo , who are committed to innovative production methods such as 3D printing.
The jury recognized a design that serves people, capable of responding to real needs with intelligence, sensitivity, and impact. “Far from creating new needs, the award-winning design demonstrates that innovation with real impact consists of rethinking and improving products that are already part of our daily lives, making them more useful, efficient, sustainable, and accessible ,” explains designer Sergi Miquel , vice president of ADI-FAD, who chaired the jury.
The Delta Awards trophy, designed by Huguet, embodies the values of the award itself, as it is made using a sustainable process and a single material consisting of compacted earth. The Albert Romagosa studio was responsible for the graphic identity, which revives the one created in the 60s by André Ricard.
Delta Awards in the Packaging category
The Gold award went to Brute, designed by Dsigntank for Estal Packaging/ByQuest, for its Wildly Crafted bottle design, created to convey an authentic message to distillery enthusiasts. With its extra-short and extra-wide format, it offers a versatile solution suitable for all types of spirits, from gins to liqueurs. Its organic textures speak for themselves, allowing design- and sustainability-oriented brands to communicate authenticity and pay homage to their roots without the need for additional elements. It is part of the Wildly Crafted portfolio, which encompasses small-batch production, where imperfections are valued for their aesthetic appeal and the environmental sustainability benefits they bring.
With its extra-short, extra-wide silhouette and rich, organic textures, the bottle conveys authenticity and a deep connection to its origins without the need for superfluous decorations. Furthermore, the jury particularly highlights its life cycle after use: the bottle's attractive proportions and pleasant tactile quality elevate the object beyond its initial function, encouraging users to reuse it and display it as a decorative piece in their homes.
The Silver award went to Push Planters, designed by PackCo for Crucial Detail. Each piece is designed for a very specific function, and together they create a packaging system that withstands impacts, humidity, and its own weight thanks to its structure and the choice of materials. The interior components consist of four corner protectors and a horizontal divider made of corrugated cardboard, plus seven paper cushions that protect the pieces and prevent them from rubbing against each other. The design of the corner protectors and the horizontal divider is particularly noteworthy, as together they create a structure that cushions external impacts, adapts to the dimensions of each product, and divides the interior into two levels. Also noteworthy is the detail of the closing flaps, designed so that, when closed, the ceramic pieces are held in place by protrusions. Everything is made of paper, making it 100% sustainable.
Three honorary awards
The ADI-FAD Board, organizer of the awards, has awarded the Delta Lifetime Achievement Award to Roca , a company founded in 1917, in recognition of its long history in which design has been key to industrial innovation and the improvement of everyday life. The Llotja School has also been recognized for its continuous contribution, since 1775, to the training and transmission of design culture in Catalonia. Finally, the city of Eibar and the Armagintzaren Museoa (Irish Museum) have been honored for their outstanding industrial heritage, as well as for their work in preserving, researching, and disseminating this heritage.
Delta Medals for Students
Regarding the Delta Medals for design students , the product design jury highlighted four projects that exemplify the quality and diversity of emerging design, with proposals ranging from technological innovation to user-centered and inclusive approaches.
The Delta Culture Awards
Finally, the jury of the Delta Culture Awards has awarded the Gold prize in the Events category to the FAIG program by Elisabeth Aznar for the Department of Education of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and in the Publications category to the book Performing Surveillance. Designing identity prostheses as tools for algorithmic resistance , by Saul Baeza for Eindhoven University.
