AIDO and ITENE develop an intelligent container with an opening sensor to prevent theft

14, May, 2012

The Technological Institute of Optics, Color and Image (AIDO) and the Technological Institute of Packaging, Transport and Logistics (ITENE), are working, with the support of IMPIVA and FEDER Funds, in the development of a new intelligent packaging with a system " anti-theft ”capable of detecting and controlling if its content has been compromised. The container incorporates an opening sensor and an electronic circuit printed with conductive inks; a sensor will alert on its opening, causing an electroluminescent device (EL) to activate. One of the main applications of this project, called Smart Printed Pack, is for the pharmaceutical industry or for products with high added value.
