Airnov Healthcare Packaging has launched a new advanced solution for the pharmaceutical industry. IDC® (Integrated Desiccant Closure) It allows manufacturers to reduce the number of components that would normally make up a complete desiccant system in a bottle by integrating the desiccant into the closure.

The unique design, which is protected by two patents, is expected to be adaptable to SP 400 bottles and also includes a child-resistant system and a new security disk on top, with the key objective being that the IDC® can unify packaging standards worldwide.

In the US and European markets, there are different sizes and approaches to standard bottles and the ways desiccants are integrated into them. With IDC®, Airnov offers a solution that covers both market standards, reducing the need for complex bottle packaging in each region.

The IDC® can be leveraged for the protection of all sensitive products that require protection against moisture, including various pharmaceutical drugs that are at risk of spoilage from exposure to moisture.

IDC® – Main Features

IDC® is developed to be compatible with a wide range of SP 33/400 cylinders, providing flexibility when selecting a supplier of compatible cylinders.
Inside the integrated desiccant chamber, the padding can be made of different absorbents, including silica gel or molecular sieve.

The new tamper-evident system is located at the top of the closure. Through the color contrast between the top and inner caps, the first opening becomes clear to the end user.

The child safety system is integrated with a push and turn gesture. This makes it easy to open and close again for a wide section of the public, including the elderly. Once re-closed, the IDC® is airtight, ensuring in-use life for sensitive products.
