ALPLA acquires the Italian company Propack

July 3, 2017

ALPLA, the world's leading provider of plastic packaging, has acquired 100% of the shares of the Italian company propack Srl. The company, located in Ostellato (Ferrara), specializes in the manufacture of HDPE and PET bottles for home care products.

In mid-June, ALPLA Italia signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Propack Srl. Propack, based in Ostellato (Ferrara), will be ALPLA's eighth center in Italy. The product portfolio also complements its operations, with proximity to new potential customers in one of the most industrialized areas of Italy.

«We have access to a solid distribution network. Propack is a good strategic partner, which will help us achieve our goals in Italy, where we have been working since 1985 ”, commented Günther Lehner, CEO of ALPLA.

Propack was founded in 2002 under the leadership of Gianni Scapoli, who developed the company as the sole supplier of bottles for the 'parent company' Biochimica, a leading manufacturer of detergents. The company employs 20 people and focuses on the production of HDPE and PET bottles for Italian customers.

The agreement is expected to be formalized in mid-July 2017.
