Alupak

Alupak AG from Switzerland, a pioneer in coffee capsules since the 80s and one of the leading manufacturers of aluminium coffee capsules, has agreed with Norden Alu Technology SL from Spain to acquire its business operating under the name Alu Caps effective immediately.

Alupak AG co-developed the first coffee capsules on behalf of Nestlé Nespresso® in the 1980s. Alupak has been a leading producer of deep-drawn aluminium coffee capsules and is a trusted development partner to its customers, which include well-known coffee brands with global reach.

The acquired company, Norden Alu Technology SL, will continue to operate in the same way as Alupak Iberia SL. It will continue to operate worldwide under the name Alupak.

Patricia Bumann-Kolb, Chairwoman of the Board of Management of Alupak AG, explains the rationale for the acquisition: “Alupak aims to be the preferred partner for customers worldwide for single-dose capsules now and in the future. We have best-in-class products and offer comprehensive service and support under one roof.” Andreas Zenz, Managing Director of Alupak AG, adds: “We offer our customers direct access to the highest quality manufacturing and innovation, whether from Switzerland with our development and technology capabilities or from Spain and the rest of the world through Alupak with global service and support. We are delighted to welcome the great Alupak team to the Alupak family and Albert and Marc Vilardell to the Alupak management team.”

Albert Vilardell, CEO of Alupak Iberia SL, comments: “The acquisition of our family-owned company marks the next step in our ambition to offer the best experience to our customers and partners worldwide. Our customers can expect even more in the future in terms of product quality, technical leadership and sustainability thanks to the support of Alupak and its Technology Excellence Centre in Switzerland. We are very pleased and proud to join forces with the coffee capsule pioneer.”
