Alzamora Group has won the Best Packaging Design 2026 award at the World Food Innovation Awards, organized by FoodBev Media, for their solution CharcuterTree developed for Marks & Spencer (M&S), Tesco and Noel AlimentariaThe award was accepted by Tom Wood, Sales Director of the group's UK plant, during the ceremony held on March 30 as part of IFE London.
The recognition distinguishes CharcuterTreeA packaging solution that expands the role of packaging both at the point of sale and at the point of consumption. The jury, which evaluated more than 100 entries from 28 countries, particularly valued its ability to combine structure, functionality, and user experience in a highly competitive and innovative industry.
CharcuterTree was born from a specific idea: to extend the usefulness of packaging beyond its usual function. On the shelf, it's presented as a visually striking Christmas pack that incorporates a foldable display stand inside. And once at home, the packaging is easily assembled and transforms into a display tree designed to showcase Christmas appetizers. In this way, the packaging becomes part of a shared experience.
“The jury particularly valued CharcuterTree’s ability to integrate structure, experience, and sustainability into a single solution. It’s not just packaging, but a proposition that connects with the consumer and adds value to the brand,” he noted. Carles Cargol, head of R&D at Alzamora Group“Our goal was to develop packaging that didn’t end its journey on the shelf, but remained present at the moment of consumption and became part of that experience.”
Made entirely of cardboard, CharcuterTree is a single-material, recyclable solution that meets current sustainability and circular economy standards. Furthermore, its structural design eliminates the need for additional components at the point of use, improving overall efficiency and reducing its environmental impact.
