amec and B Lab Spain join forces to promote sustainability in companies in the industrial sector

May 6th 2021

The CEO of amec, Joan Tristany, and the executive director of B Lab Spain, Pablo Sanchez, have signed a Collaboration Framework Agreement to jointly promote the integration of sustainability in companies in the industrial sector, as well as good business practices and the generation of positive impact in all those areas that are related to business activity: society, the environment, customers, suppliers and workers.

B Lab Spain will train and make available to amec companies the Impact Assessment B and the SDG Action Manager: two internationally recognized standards developed by B Lab that, confidential, online and free, allow to measure, manage and improve the social and environmental impact of all types of companies. Currently, more than 100.000 companies around the world use Impact Assessment B and the SDG Action Manager. The latter, focused on the SDGs and promoted jointly with the United Nations Global Compact, has already made it possible to establish more than 5.000 objectives aimed at achieving the SDGs.

amec will also promote the measurement programs of B Lab Spain, such as Path + B. Aimed at medium and large companies, this program makes it possible to raise awareness about the role of companies as agents of change, as well as to measure, manage and improve their economic, social and environmental impact so that they can deepen their path towards sustainability. The objective is to allow the company to play a more active role and with more management capacity in terms of its impact on society and the planet.

The agreement connects with the movement Positive Industry that promotes the community of internationalized industrial companies, and that defends an industry with a positive impact on all people and the planet. In this sense, B Lab Spain will publicly subscribe to amec's Positive Industry manifesto.

The companies that are part of amec generate an export volume of more than 6.200 million euros, export on average 53,6% of their turnover and invest 3,9% in innovation.
