Avery Dennison launches its label holder recycling program in Europe

Avery Dennison has presented Circular AD, an intensive program of recycling of used paper and film label holders andn all countries in Europe.

Through this program, businesses simply use a web application to schedule the collection of used label holders and have Avery Dennison deliver them to their recycling partners. This application also provides useful information in the form of regularly updated certificates and analyzes on the amount of media material that has been recycled or CO emissions.2 that have been avoided as a result of recycling, among others.

The collection and transport of used media using AD Circular complies with all European regulations and the costs are very similar to those of waste treatment services.

AD Circular will go live in eight countries during the first half of 2021; namely, France, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom. In the second half of the year it will start operating in other European countries. According Burak sahbaz, senior director of marketing and sustainability, citing statistics from the AWA labeling industry consulting firm, the ultimate goal of the program is that by 2025 75% of Avery Dennison's label waste is being recycled on the European market. As he explained, each kilogram of media that is recycled avoids the emission of 2,28 kg of carbon dioxide.

Material made from recycled media will be used in new packaging materials and other quality products. Avery Dennison's vision is to end up making it easy to recycle each and every media.
