Axilone Metal invests in the construction of a factory in Spain

7th October 2013

Axilone, a subsidiary of Ileos, reinforces its industrial capacity with the construction of a new factory in Spain specialized in metallization and anodization. This important investment is aimed at improving production capacity and reducing "time to market".
For more than 30 years Axilone has been producing caps, collars and other specialized packaging metal components for brands in the beauty sector, from its factory in Catalonia, in Sant Pere de Torelló, 80 km north of Barcelona. The factory produced 160 million units in 2012.
Ileos Group, supported by its new shareholder Oaktree, decided to make this investment to meet the continuously growing demand and the shorter time to market required by its luxury brand clients. Construction started in June 2013 and the factory should be fully operational during the third quarter of 2014. The project costs € 13M and will include modern production facilities of 9.000m² plus 2.000m² of office space.
