BASF renews its certificate as a responsible CSR company of the 'Responsible Care' program

La Business Federation of the Spanish Chemical Industry (FEIQUE), as managing representative of the global initiative Responsible Care in Spain, has renewed the certificate that recognizes the BASF Group as a CSR Responsible Company. The Responsible Care program, which started in 2015, is the global and voluntary initiative of the chemical industry throughout the world to advance in the continuous improvement of safety, health and environmental protection in all operations in this sector since a sustainable and socially responsible approach.

This recognition, which will be valid until 2025, certifies that the company adheres to the voluntary Responsible Care initiative and that it reports to Feique the Responsible Care performance indicators, as well as the self-assessment of the CEFIC (European Council of Health) framework management system. For Carles navarro, general director of BASF in Spain, this renewal is "the visible recognition of our commitment to sustainability and the social responsibility of the company over these years. For us, being part of the initiative allows us to offer a holistic and transparent vision of the development of the Group's productive activity, as well as our contribution to social well-being and sustainable development." 

It is a reference framework for the sector that, since its implementation in 1985, has allowed chemical companies to progress in the safe management of chemical products and in the excellence of their operational performance. Finally, it also certifies that the company complies with the verification processes agreed in the program and with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or homologous certifications approved by Feique within Responsible Care; and encourages the development of CSR policies with its stakeholders and collaborates in promoting compliance with the objectives and spirit of the Responsible Care program.
