Berlin Packaging announces the winners of the 16th edition of its contest

berlin packaging announced the winners of the 16th edition Contest Berlin Packaging | Bruni Glass Design Award.

The initiative, created in 1997, proposes a workshop-contest dedicated to design aimed at students from the main universities in order to create new and innovative forms of packaging to offer to the market. Thanks to collaborations with renowned design institutes around the world, including the Politecnico di Milano, the IED in Madrid and IED in Milan, the USCF in Santa Fe, the University of the Arts London and the Weißensee Kunsthochschule in Berlin, among others , the contest has allowed students to make 5 prototypes for each of the four categories of Berlin Packaging's reference sectors (alcoholic beverages, oil and vinegar, wine and home fragrances).

The students have ventured into the conception of increasingly innovative solutions with the aim of offering contemporary packaging, in line with market trends and at the forefront. For each category, a first and a second classified have been decreed, to later choose the absolute winner.

Throughout its 16 editions, the BGDA has proposed some 300 models, of which more than 60 have been made industrially and which have generated more than 200 different articles in terms of capacity, color and nozzle. The company has sold more than 10 pieces created or developed by the contest, and the young designers have had their copyrights recognized.

In the last edition of the BGDA, they have participated students from the Polytechnic of Milan in Italy, the Münster School of Design in Germany, the FS Pack Cognac in France, the Catholic University of Santa Fe (UCSF) in Argentina and the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in the USA. USA and during the prize-giving evening, the prototypes of the 20 finalists chosen by an exceptional jury made up of Berlin Packaging executives, clients and relevant partners who valued the originality and creativity of the proposals were exhibited. Berlin Packaging will register and deposit the projects of the finalists, so that they can be marketed when requested.

CATEGORY OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES:

El first prize was awarded to MESHDavide Intravaia, a student at the Milan Polytechnic, while the project RELIC, by Daisy Ruiz, IUC student, received second prize.

OIL AND VINEGAR CATEGORY:

In this category, Mercedes Luhaces, from UCSF, wins first prize by HELEN. In turn, the second prize it will stop at CARMENAlessandro Cerianifrom the Milan Polytechnic.

WINES CATEGORY:

First prize goes to HARMONY, a proposal carried out also by Mercedes Luhaces. In turn, the second prize of the category is awarded to DECOLTE, project of Giulia Macchinifrom the Milan Polytechnic. 

HOME FRAGRANCES CATEGORY:

The first prize goes to FUJI , By pham minh phuc, from the Münster School of Design, while the second prize Is granted to Maria Cecilia Buonocunto, student at the Politecnico di Milano, by GRAMMY. 

Finally, they were granted two Engineering Honorable Mentions, an Honorable Mention for Sustainability and a Best Graphic Panel award.

La first engineering mention went to nefertiti, a “made in Italy” project by Giulia Pietracaprina, student at the Milan Polytechnic; second mention was for the French victor renaud, from FS Pack Cognac, creator of HAYIM, which competed in the wine section. 

Agustina Massei, from UCSF, took away la special mention for sustainability with DRIKO ECO, a project that has competed in the home fragrance category.

the already mentioned MESH de Davide Intravaia has also taken Best Graphic Panel.

the absolute winner of the contest is, instead, FUJIby Pham Minh Phuc.
