Boxmore Packaging becomes a subsidiary of ALPLA

28, August, 2017

ALPLA, a leading provider of plastic packaging all over the world, has bought Boxmore Packaging, one of the leaders of the African market.

The company, based in Samrand, Johannesburg, specializes in the manufacture of PET preforms, closures and bottles. It currently employs about 1000 workers at nine locations.

All employees and locations will go to ALPLA, although it has been decided not to modify the administrative structure. The current board, led by Len Engelbrecht (CEO of Boxmore), will continue to manage Boxmore's existing business. In addition, he will assume responsibility for the integration and management of the existing business of ALPLA SA. For the near future, the company will continue to operate under its current name as a member of the ALPLA Group.

The acquisition was signed on July 5, 2017.
