The XXII edition of La Noche de la Empresa Vasca, organized by the Fundación Empresa Vasca y Sociedad / Gizarte eta Euskal Enpresa Fundazioa with the sponsorship of Banco SabadellGuipuzcoano, has distinguished the business career of Carlos Delclaux Zulueta, president of the Vidrala Group, as Best Entrepreneur Basque 2012.
The business gala also served as a framework to distinguish the work carried out by Orona, a cooperative to which the Jury of the awards granted the Made in Euskadi award; and by CIE Automotive, which won the Business Innovation award. The fourth distinction of the gala, the Euskal Makila, was presented to Smurfit Kappa Nervión in recognition of its two decades of participation in this Biscayan industry with 60 years of history.
The annual celebration of the awards was held at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and was attended by more than 300 representatives from the economic and institutional world who showed their recognition to the winners. As usual, the distinctions were awarded by the winners of the previous edition. In this way, Carlos Delclaux, president of Vidrala, received the plaque that recognizes him as Best Basque Entrepreneur from José Javier Arteche, president of Arteche Group. Aitor Mendia, Orona's international corporate director, was awarded the Made in Euskadi award by José María Balzategi, CEO of Fagor Arrasate; and Nacho Artazkoz, CFO of the CIE Automotive group, awarded the plaque of recognition to Business Innovation Joseba Jauregizar, CEO of Tecnalia R&I.
