CCL Label announces the inauguration of a new production plant “shrink sleeves” labels in Tibi, Spain, near Alicante.
“We are very excited to offer shrink sleeves produced in Spain for local and multinational brands that operate in Spain. “Investing in local production follows CCL’s strategy of staying close to the production sites and filling lines of leading food and beverage, as well as personal and home care brands, and serving them locally and efficiently,” Explain Lukas Nachbaur, Commercial and Technical Director of the new facilities. “Our first customers have already placed and received orders and are satisfied with the quality and service.”
“The investment in this sustainable facility is a commitment to the growth of the Spanish consumer products market.” There are many big brands that call,” he points out. Reinhard Streit, Vice President and General Manager of Food and Beverage at CCL Label.
The new plant offers customers premium printing technology. The combination of offset printing and gravure printing gives customers great flexibility to change designs frequently.
Although all shrink sleeve materials will be available, special attention will be paid to the award-winning EcoFloat shrink sleeves made of polyolefin, which are approved for PET, PEHD and PP bottles and containers and have already been adopted by brands of renown.
Shrink sleeves are applied by heat and adapt to a variety of packaging shapes, acting like a second skin. They are made from low-density floating polyolefin material, which is at the forefront of sustainable shrink wrap technology. The design of the “shrink sleeves” allows easy separation of the primary packaging during the recycling process, which favors the separation of materials and improves recycling efficiency.
Sustainability, a priority in the production plant
Not only is the product produced sustainable, but also the building was built with sustainability in mind.
Solar panels have been installed on the roof of the new 10.000 square meter warehouse, which will allow them to generate clean, renewable energy for operations and will also contribute significantly to their efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs. long-term. They estimate to generate around 20-25% of their annual energy needs.
Ultimately, shrink sleeve production will be co-located with In-Mould label production (previously produced by Creaprint) which was acquired approximately a year ago. The IML label business is expected to move to the new Tibi headquarters in 2026.
