CCL Label

CCL Label presents an elastic sleeve with a thickness of 30 microns, developed at the Voelkermarkt plant in Austria. It was specially designed for 1 liter returnable PET bottles, which are commonly used in the German mineral water market.

"East extremely thin stretch sleeve It was developed with sustainability in mind. At 30 microns, the sleeve is much thinner than the standard 45 microns commonly used. This explains the efficiency on the material side: much less raw material is needed to make this sleeve and therefore helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the product,” he says. thorsten umek, Product Manager at CCL Voelkermarkt. “We estimate that beverage brands can save up to 32 tons of plastic material per 100 million sleeves, which is roughly the weight of more than 5 adult African elephants,” she adds.

La stretch sleeve technology in itself has several advantages of sustainability. They are sleeves made of mono-PE (polypropylene) material, which has a high degree of elasticity. This means that no adhesives or heat neededTo apply the sleeve to the bottle or other container: it adheres itself and stays in place with the help of its own elasticity. On top of that, it is possible to integrate different percentages of recycled content into stretch sleeves from various sources, including post-consumer recycled (PCR) material.
