Cloverty inaugurates a line for the packaging of solids in cans or cans

March 31th 2021

El pharmaceutical outsourcing laboratory (CDMO) cloverty has put into operation a automated line for the packaging of solids in cans or cans. This incorporation has been designed for the dosage of products in large capacity containers, up to 1kg, such as food supplements based on collagen, amino acids or products for athletes, or natural granules based on soy, among others.

The investment made by Cloverty for the development of this packaging line is due to the need of the CDMO laboratory to continue responding to the demands of its customers for the manufacture of food supplements for sports, joint health and other products that cannot be formulated in other pharmaceutical forms, which are reserved for doses of nutritional ingredients or with health claims in lower doses.

This new automated line for the packaging of solids encompasses a complete control of the process with high productivity, being able to reach a throughput of up to 60 units per minute, without neglecting the quality of the product. The equipment has a blowing and suction system to clean the container before filling and a dispenser of small spoons or scoops that avoids their manipulation and, therefore, the risk of contamination associated with a manual process.

The dosage of the mixture is carried out by means of a conical auger for large volumes and the adjustment of the doses is carried out by means of a motor through a touch screen. The cleaning of the edge of the bottle is carried out automatically for the correct sealing by induction, if this system is available, and the feeding of caps, which is also automated, is completed with a positioner. The process ends with a dynamic weight control to ensure the net content of the product; In addition, the equipment has an automatic labeller.

“Cloverty continues to grow and it does so in industrial land, in technology, in the products we develop and manufacture, in the industrial processes and options that we offer to our customers; and a clear example of this progress is that we already have adequate facilities for the manufacture and packaging of solid products with different applications, "he acknowledges. Blanca Rodriguez, Technical and Innovation Director at Cloverty.
