ColaCao pays a particular tribute to the heroes and heroines of the health crisis

May 25th 2020

ColaCao wants to pay tribute to the thousands of people who have sacrificed themselves in this health crisis in our country: the health community, care in geriatric residences, State security forces, journalists, cleaning staff of public facilities ... of the food chain, from supermarket personnel, to workers in food factories, to farmers and ranchers.

For this reason he has made a tribute edition of its packaging replacing the brand logo with a sincere THANK YOU and creating an exclusive design that wants to thank all these heroes -through some of their representatives- for their involvement in the emergency. The label of this solidarity boat displaces the usual texts and legends to give way to a unique and exclusive illustration that reflects some of these heroic collectives, and includes one of the symbols of hope that have invaded the balconies of our country: the rainbows that have us remembered at all times that "everything will be fine."

The tribute includes citizens, with images of people applauding, in a nod to the spontaneous applause that has taken place in all corners of our geography. The illustrations, markedly childish in character, want to also applaud the boys and girls, who with their exemplary behavior during the long weeks of confinement have given a life lesson to the whole of society.

The brand will put on sale a limited edition of these containers, the proceeds of which will go entirely to the Federation of Food Banks of Spain (FESBAL).

This very special initiative is part of the Aid Plan for Covid-19 of Idyllic Foods, in which the company has donated more than 120 tons of its products to humanitarian organizations and hospitals - the result of the complete one-day production of its factory, to which several more tons were added - and financial resources. The economic contribution came from the solidarity payroll initiative, through which the company's employees were able to donate one day of their salary to help in the health emergency, an amount that the company tripled, and which was allocated to different hospitals in the national territory .

Idilia Foods' aid campaign has been the largest in its history, allocating aid worth more than one million euros to organizations such as the aforementioned FESBAL, Red Cross, Save the Children Spain or Samur Social, 14 hospitals, 5 medicalized hotels, public administrations both autonomous and municipal and small humanitarian associations. The economic resources have been invested by the receiving hospitals in sanitary material and in the reinforcement of their ICUs. Product donations have been used to supply families without resources or affected by the economic crisis derived from the pandemic throughout the national territory, as well as to help campaign shelters for homeless people that were set up in Madrid and Barcelona . More than 40.000 units of "ready-to-eat" products have also been donated to health personnel, to help them regain strength after these long hours of work to which the crisis has led them.
