Comart commemorates its 50th anniversary

comart, a leading company in the Spanish market for the supply of paper and paperboard, celebrates its 50th anniversary with the inauguration of its new facilities in Montornés del Vallés (Barcelona).

It consists of 17.000 m2 built on a total area of ​​37.000 m2, which, added to that of its other warehouses and workshops located in Seseña (Toledo) and Besalú (Girona), will allow us to offer better customer service, as well as increase production and Template.

"The total investment of 6 million euros in this new automated single-level plant is allowing us to improve internal logistics, something that will have an impact on greater speed, efficiency and quality of service," says the president and founder of this family business, Lluís Mª Ginjaume Torras, which, due to its links with Finland, a paper-producing country, has held the position of consul of this country for almost two decades, and is currently consul emeritus.

Comart works with the main paper and cardboard manufacturers worldwide -Metsä Board, Cartulinas CMPC, Suzano Pulp and Paper and WestRock- and offers a wide range of products to supply the packaging sector, mainly, followed by graphics and digital printing. . Although 80% of its clients are Spanish, the rest of the volume is exported to Portugal and France, "countries where we plan to grow", explains Ernest Ginjaume. The CEO of the company, and son of the president of the same, ensures a generational change with great expectations for the future.

Comart annually distributes about 35.000 tons of product, a volume that this year is expected to increase by 5%, with an approximate turnover of 30 million euros. It has a permanent stock of 6.000 t of coils and sheets, and has a workforce of 85 workers. The group companies, Spirax and Sumapel, in charge of handling the product, with a 24-hour delivery service, process 200 tons per day.
