The manufacturer of machinery for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector DaraPharma, based in Granollers, has closed the acquisition of CoolVacuum, manufacturer of industrial and laboratory freeze dryers.
With the acquisition, the CoolVacuum team becomes part of Dara Pharma, which will allow "to add synergies and offer complete lines for the manufacture of vaccines and other lyophilized injectable products", said Andreu Antonell, CEO of Dara Pharma.
CoolVacuum CEO Manuel Garrote joins Dara Pharma's management team to continue promoting its growth and development in the coming years.
The company, which has not disclosed the amount of the operation, states that within its new strategic plan new acquisitions are being studied and foresees a turnover for 2020 of 55 million euros, as well as ending the next three-year period reaching a turnover of 80 million in 2022. The operation involves increasing the group's workforce to 330 people.
The incorporation of CoolVacuum to Dara Pharma confirms the international spirit of the project, since the group exports more than 95% of its turnover equally between Europe, America and Asia. Today Dara already has a direct presence in the USA, Mexico, Colombia and India, and plans to strengthen its presence in Asia.
