The two cardboard factories of Iggesund Paperboard - located in Iggesund (Sweden) and Workington (England) - have obtained the highest ranking in sustainability in an evaluation by the analyst firm EcoVadis, which sets the standard in systems for the evaluation and classification of suppliers of global companies and which has already evaluated more than 25 suppliers. Companies using EcoVadis services include Coca Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, L'Oréal and Heineken.
In the last ten years, the Holmen group has been among the 100 most sustainable companies in the world in the indices prepared by both the United Nations Global Compact and the Corporate Knights company. EcoVadis and similar systems go a long way in simplifying the exchange of information between customers and suppliers. A first-class job in sustainability is an important prerequisite to being able to negotiate with the major brands that now often spearhead the movement towards a more sustainable society.
