The Packaging Cluster celebrates ten years

El Packaging Cluster, a non-profit entity that represents companies of tthe entire value chain of the packaging sector, celebrate the tenth anniversaryor from birth. The cluster began its journey in October 2012 and, a decade later, brings together 130 members of a growing sector and each time it has more weight in the country's economy (in Catalonia, it represents 4% of GDP).

During this time, the Cluster has multiplied its number of members by almost five, going from 27 to 130 in a sector that has 723 quantified companies in Catalonia. A growth that is also reflected in the team, which has gone from being made up of one person to having eight workers who manage more than 46 collaborative innovation projects, among proposals already presented, in progress and in preparation, at a national and international level.

Every year, the cluster organizes some 40 activities dedicated exclusively to its associates and to the transmission of knowledge about the industry and the trends that set its pace, as well as participating in renowned fairs and congresses such as Empack or Hispack.

The service portfolio has been reformulated in recent years and today the Cluster offers all kinds of benefits to support business and personal growth: a training plan with 4 or 5 courses a year, the Packaging Observatory with latest news from the sector and market studies, support in the internationalization of associated companies or consulting services to face the new regulations, such as the Plastic Tax.

On December 1st, the Cluster will celebrate its tenth anniversary with an event that will serve as a meeting point for the packaging sector with nearly 200 guests, a gala dinner and many surprises.

The event will take place at the Hotel Gallery in Barcelona and will start at 18.30:19.30 p.m. with a welcome drink. At XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., the institutional opening will take place at the hands of Albert Castellanos, Secretary for Business and Competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya and current CEO of ACCIÓ.

Among the events planned, there will be a review of the entity's trajectory, in addition to awarding various awards to companies that stand out for their dedication to innovation, collaboration and transformation of the sector. The event will conclude with a surprise show.

At the end of the most formal part, the guests will enjoy a gala dinner and all the work done in recent years to make the packaging industry a benchmark for progress and talent will be celebrated.

Journalist Xantal Llavina will be in charge of conducting the gala. She is currently a radio, television, and press journalist, ICT popularizer, director of radio and television programs, and lecturer. As director and presenter of "Revolució 4.0" on Catalunya Ràdio (6th Season) and "Revolució 4.0" on TV3 Terrat (3rd Season), and her link with the disclosure of entrepreneurs, innovation, the digital revolution and the future.
