Theodent, a New Orleans biotech company, has been honored with one of the world's most prestigious international design awards, the Red Dot for Innovative Product Design, for its unconventional “chocolate toothpaste” packaging.
The rich brown and coppery container and tube were inspired by the company's proprietary chocolate extract, Rennou, which is the active ingredient in the fluoride-free toothpastes they launched earlier this year. It is the first time that a toothpaste has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot for product design and innovative concept.
