Elizabeth Alier Benages, president of the paper company allier, is the new president of aspaper, elected by the Board of Directors of the organization, which groups and represents the pulp and paper industry in Spain.
Elisabet Alier Benages succeeds Jordi Mercader Barata, vice president and general manager of Miquel y Costas & Miquel, as president of Aspapel. Elisabet Alier has a degree in Law from the Pompeu Fabra University, a master's degree in Economics for Lawyers from the University of Barcelona and Pade from IESE. He has also studied at the School of Legal Practice of the Barcelona Bar Association.
Since 2014 she is president of the Alier paper company. She is also a founding partner and lawyer at the Devenire Legal firm and at the patent and trademark consultancy Devenire industrial property. Speaker in numerous forums and lecturer in various postgraduate programs, as well as a member of the Industrial Property Section of the Barcelona Bar Association, she holds various positions in associations and foundations, such as vice president of the Associació dels Amics del Paper or that of patron of the Fundació del Museu Molí Paperer de Capellades, among others (CEOE, AIPPI, ICAB).
Aspapel (Spanish Association of Pulp, Paper and Cardboard Manufacturers) is the professional organization at the national level that groups together companies in the pulp and paper sector. Associated companies account for more than 90% of the sector's production. The objective of the association is to contribute to the competitive and sustainable development of the Spanish paper industry and to the promotion of the image of the sector, its companies and products.
The Spanish paper industry, with 79 factories, maintains 16.600 direct jobs, mostly permanent and qualified jobs.
