Paper packaging for feminine hygiene products

28th September 2021

Optima paper packaging

Optimum Group has developed a paper packaging for compresses in collaboration with a global group of consumer goods. This is the first paper packaging to be used in the segment of feminine hygiene products and has received the German Packaging Award 2021.

This project related to the packaging of feminine hygiene products, in which fully recyclable paper has been used as packaging material, shows that paper with reduced printing and without any plastic coating for hygiene products can definitely be an alternative to plastic.

Association with Voith paper provides Optima with the ideal conditions to develop other packaging for products for which paper packaging seemed unthinkable before.

"Whether it's paper, film or other packaging materials, it is essential to integrate product protection, sustainability and marketing successfully with each other," he says. Dominik Broellochs, Group Sustainability Director at Optima.
