Marco Nespolo, CEO of Fedrigoni, said: “This achievement, which places us in the top 1% of the world market with reference to our industries, is a source of pride for us. However, it is not a finishing point, but rather an incentive to improve further.
Several factors influenced the latest score: transparent communication of goals and results, including emission reductions, supported by the Science-Based Targets Initiative, water consumption and waste management; a clear action plan to achieve the 2030 goals and generalized accountability of all managers in the company linking a significant part of MBOs to the achievement of ESG objectives (between 15% and 25% depending on the role) .
Absolute CO₂ emissions fell 1,5% at the end of 2021 against a 5% increase in volumes produced (baseline 2019); clean water returned to the environment exceeded the goal set for 2030, confirming responsible management in this period of extreme drought (97% against the 95% goal). The company has chosen a concrete and measurable approach that includes a path of continuous and uninterrupted improvement. And, in fact, the results as of May 2022 confirm the positive trend: waste recovered from a circular perspective and not sent to landfill has risen to 89% (from 84% at the end of 2021), and suppliers have risen selected according to ESG criteria. to 88% (from 81% at the end of 2021), an increase of 100% in the last 12 months (44% in May 2021), approaching the 2030 target of 95%.
