Flexomed receives the WorldStar award for the best beverage container

August 6st, 2019

On May 15, the packaging company Flexomed received in Prague the WorldStar award from the World Packaging Organization (WPO) for the best beverage container for its "Atomic Backpack". In March, the company won the Liderpack award for the best beverage packaging for the same project, which gave it access to the WorldStars.

The atomic backpack is an isothermal container designed to transport and keep two bottles of wine, placed one on top of the other, at a low temperature. It is made up of two cotton straps and an elongated bottle container that can be carried on the back like a backpack or a shoulder bag. As an extra, it has two cold accumulator pads to reinforce the isothermal property. The container can maintain the temperature for more than six hours.

This accolade is the fourth WorldStar that Flexomed has received in the last four years. In 2016 it was the "Smurf" tray and in 2017 the "Ethylene Sequester" bag that received two: one in the food category and the gold medal for the best container in the "Saves Food" category.

In this 2019 edition of the WorldStar Awards, 319 containers from 35 countries have participated. Of the winners, 5 are Spanish. Only products previously awarded in national competitions and recognized by the WPO (World Packaging Organization) can participate.
