Flint Group, through its Center of Technical Excellence located in Trelleborg (Sweden), has reached a new collaboration agreement with Nilpeter in the framework of Labelexpo Europe 2013 to update its printing platforms in this enclave and the acquisition of a new MO press -4.
This offset platform with a quick-change sleeve system is combinable with other printing technologies. It offers maximum print quality with minimal waste, works with short and long runs, and incorporates water balance control, automatic ink control, CIP4 or intelligent automatic registration, among others.
The new machine will consist of three flexo and two offset bodies. Thanks to the multiple drying systems offered by these machines, Flint can handle all types of inks, including both those with water-based and solvent-based (hot air or IR drying) as well as those that need UV mercury lamps and UV LED lamps. .
Flint's goal is to experiment with new inks and applications with an eye toward technological progress in its industry. For this purpose, the company will have the collaboration of substrate suppliers and its main customers, who will be offered a testing and training platform. In this sense, Flint will host a series of training seminars that will begin in 2014 and will deal with topics such as short runs in packaging or UV LED printing, from a theoretical point of view combined with practical exercises.
