FM Logistic and Tecnove complete the first integrated green hydrogen project in the logistics sector

January 27, 2021

M Logistics Iberian y technove have completed the first milestone of the cooperative research and development project called Technological Model for Emission-Free Logistics Transport, which has the participation of the Center for Industrial Technical Development (CDTI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

This project in Illescas (Toledo), for which the acronym has been chosen H2-LoginIt consists of a set of work packages to develop in a suitable logistics environment the monitoring of hydrogen production and supply, the transformation of vehicles both for internal use in the logistics platform - trucks - and external - vans for urban and media distribution. distance— and an Internet of Things (IoT) type system that allows controlling and optimizing the relations between production and use of this fuel that will allow the decarbonization progressive and total supply chain of goods.

The research and development project is complemented by the investments that the FM Logistic group has made to have renewable energy through photovoltaic solar energy installations and which is being carried out in 2020-2021 to have in-situ an electrolysis hydrogen generating plant for vehicular use, which will be the first in Spain within a logistics platform. The set ensures that the carbon footprint of the movement of goods is zero.

The project also has the collaboration of research organizations such as the National Hydrogen Center and the Technological Institute of Packaging, Transport and Logistics, as well as entrepreneurial SMEs with regional and national implementation, through open innovation schemes.

The physical implementation in Illescas of renewable and distributed hydrogen production will take place in the first half of 2021, while the pioneering transformation of vehicles is expected to take place at the end of 2021.

FM Logistics is one of the 10 companies that have constituted the Green Hydrogen Cluster of Castilla-La Mancha in December 2020, an initiative that was born with the idea of promoting the strategic development of green hydrogen technology and positioning the Autonomous Community at national and European level as a reference in this renewable energy.
