Food 4 Future will gather 5.000 congressmen in June

Food 4 Future-ExpoFoodTech2021 plans to bring together 5.000 professionals from the Alimentation and drinks, from more than 20 countries, between June 15 and 17 in the BEC-Bilbao Exhibition Center.

«Food 4 Future is an event designed from and for the industry, with the support of more than 170 business organizations from different countries, with the aim of helping the food industry to face the challenges that it will have to face in the next decade to develop a healthier diet for an ever-growing population, "he said. Albert Planas, CEO of Food 4 Future, during the presentation that took place at the BEC-Bilbao Exhibition Center. "The foodtech industry is strategic for Western countries, and here we have a great opportunity to lead the revolution in the sector", he concluded. 

"This celebration is great news for the BEC and for the territory," he said. Arantxa Tapia, Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment of the Basque Government; who remarked that the Basque Country «has positioned itself internationally thanks to its gastronomy and it is time to take advantage of this positioning to extend it to food innovation and the digitization of the food industry. I firmly believe that Food 4 Future offers us this excellent opportunity, and we must take advantage of it with the utmost responsibility and intelligence. 

Food 4 Future has the support of the Bilbao City Council. Organized by Nebext and Azti, Food 4 Future will also have representation of more than 200 exhibiting firms that will be presenting their most innovative solutions, equipment, technology and projects; together with 280 international experts in biotechnology, food science and safety, digitization, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Automation and Robotics. 

Digitization, sustainability and healthy eating

For three days, about 300 international speakers and more than 56 conferences will expose the keys to face the current challenges of the food industry. An agenda that will revolve around 3 main themes: digitization, sustainability and healthy eating.  

El Professor Adrian David Cheok, a member of the Order of Australia and a professor at the i-Tokyo University of Japan, will analyze how to successfully deal with the digitization of the food and beverage industry. Cheok specializes in research on multisensory communication over the Internet and human-computer interfaces. 

Pere Puigdomenech, research professor at the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) at the Center for Research in Agrigenomics (CRAG), will address sustainability in current business models. Specialized in molecular biology of plants, he is an expert in the field of safety in the consumption of transgenic vegetables.  

Healthy eating will be another of the main themes of Food 4 Future, with Jose Maria Ordovas Tufts University professor as featured speaker. Professor in nutrition, he is one of the pioneers and major specialists worldwide in nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics. The outstanding presentations are completed with the participation of Dipika Matthias, Director of The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  

Exhibitions, conferences and sample of practical cases regarding digitization, search for new business models, efficiency of the entire value chain, sustainability and product innovation are some of the many activities that will take place at the BEC during the three days of this edition.
