Free From Plastics Packaging It was born with the desire to be the most specialized European show in plastic-free packaging and alternatives to plastic; and seeks to address, mainly, designers, manufacturers and retailers of packaging for food use. The show will be held for the first time in Barcelona, at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue, from May 28 to 29.
The plastic-free packaging they cover the modalities of the classic paper and cardboard packaging, but also those made from rice, corn, etc.; or those that are biodegradable, compostable, recycled or those made with any other alternative to plastic.
The living room Free From Plastics Packaging, which will take place parallel to the celebration of the fair Free From Functional & Health Ingredients, will consist of an exhibition and a full program of conferences aimed at attracting European leaders in the food processing and packaging sector. In the exhibition part, more than 300 companies from 34 countries will be present, including industry leaders such as ASPACK, Mintel, Eska, Granarolo, Ballyfabs International, Bio4Pack, Korea Pavilion, Pedon, Schnitzer and many others.
“Motivated by growing consumer awareness and by the emergence of social movements such as Clean Seas or Turn the Tide on Plastics, various packaging designers and producers conveyed to us the need to have an event strictly geared towards alternatives to plastic for food industries. food and beverage sector» explains Ronald Holman, director of the show. "By focusing exclusively on alternatives to plastic and ingenious packaging solutions beyond plastic, we want to offer attendees at the fair a comprehensive overview of the sector that they will not find in other halls with a more general overview of the packaging sector."
One of the most relevant events of the Free From Plastics Packaging show is the Matchmaking program organized by the European Enterprise Network, a European initiative with which it is hoped to arrange 500 face-to-face sessions between exhibitors and buyers from all over the world.
Free conference sessions include a total of 60 presentations covering a wide range of market-related topics.
