García de Pou launches the single-use paper cutlery set 'Paper Cutlery'

16th September 2020

The company specialized in the manufacture and marketing of non-food products for the hospitality industry Garcia de Pou lanza 'Paper Cutlery', an innovative and extra-resistant paper cutlery.

This product is from 100% virgin cellulose, biodegradableresistant to grease, humidity, high temperatures and safe for food contact, for the single-use cutlery market.

The collection, consisting of a large fork, and a small knife, fork and teaspoon, complies with Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council, relative to the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, applicable as of 2021.

According to Emili Garcia, manager of García de Pou: “One of the only ecological alternatives that we can find today are wooden cutlery, but these alter the taste of food, on the other hand we have verified that this novel paper cutlery does not change it at all ”.

The material of the new 'Paper Cutlery' collection is very resistant and compatible with foods such as sauces, ice creams or salads, as well as with hot preparations. It comes from sustainably managed forests with PEFC certification.

García de Pou has several product ranges made with 100% renewable and recyclable materials, such as the 'Bionic' sugar cane tableware or the 'Feel Green' single-use packaging, among others.

Soon, García de Pou will expand this collection with a large knife and a coffee stirrer. Likewise, the company also plans to launch on the market, in the coming months, a cardboard product for 'take away food' made with nanomicro technology.
