Germark reforms its facilities to become the first Spanish company certified to label Covid-19 vaccines

December 7th 2020

Germanmark has achieved certification to label Covid-19 vaccines after adapting their facilities. The reforms have involved an investment of about 300.000 euros. “It is an important but strategic investment since it makes us the first Spanish company certified for the labeling of vaccines against Coronavirus", Explain Iban Cid, its CEO.

To adapt to the requirements of the "BRCGS Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials", the most demanding packaging safety regulations today, Germark has carried out different reforms in its facilities. For example, it has installed fingerprint access controls and has sectorized different departments and air-conditioned the production plant. The company has also trained all its staff in relation to measures to fight against Covid-19 and in terms of security and protection measures in general.

Germark becomes the first label manufacturer in Spain to obtain the “BRCGS Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials” certification and “one of the few in Europe in the field of adhesive labels”, explains Cid. "Certification puts us in a privileged situation to meet the great demand we expect in the labeling of different vaccines to fight the pandemic," says Cid. Regarding the forecast to start working on it, Cid is optimistic and, given "the imminent arrival of vaccines to the European and Spanish market" he hopes to be able to close agreements with pharmaceutical firms in the coming months.
